Palacký University young scientists met with representatives from Birmingham

A joint one day meeting between the Physical chemistry Ph.D. doctoral student’s from  Palacky University in Olomouc together with Formulation Engineering Ph.D. students from the School of Chemical Engineering, University of Birmingham, UK was carried out on October 3, 2018 in the Science and Technology Park of the Palacky University (“VTP – Vedecko technicky park UP” in Czech language).
It was organized by Prof. L. Lapcik from Department of Physical Chemistry, Palacky University and Dr. Richard  Greenwood from School of Chemical Engineering, University of Birmingham. In total  eleven  presentations from the English students projects were presented and discussed. All the research topics  were closely related to the industrial partners,  for example,  both from automotive and aerospace (Rolls-Royce, Johnson Matthey, ), cosmetics (P&G, Colgate -Palmolive), pharmaceutical (Bristol Myers Squibb), foodstuffs  (Rich Products, Kerry Ingredients) and composites (DuPont Teijin Films, Fibrelean ). Rich scientific discussions were motivating for young scientists especially with their practical and theoretical approaches. Later that day after the excursion in the premises of the RCPTM the social program was finished by dinner together in a local restaurant.
