R&D for praxis: Protecting the results of R&D, licensing of patents and know-how, promoting of cooperation with industry and communications of R&D results
The project responds to a situation when a conception of industrial property protection isn´t established among research staff and postgraduate students. The project aims to expand awareness of the need to protect industrial property and its further utilization. We do not forget the fact that the communication, promotion, marketing and management of cooperation between scientists and industry are also very important. The project will use case studies and experience of representatives (technology Scouts) from the research workplaces of Palacky University and will respond to their initiatives. We will also focus on technically oriented high school students in our region and wake up their interest in studying technical or scientific disciplines.
The project will be implemented by consultants of our science and technology park.

Scientist: The development of professional skills of talented high school students in scientific research work
The project is aimed to the systematic development of skills of talented high school students for their involvement in R&D. Education is focused on natural science and development of individual creative work, which is the basis for a successful career of scientist. This goal will be implemented through key activities focused on systematic work with the target group. Main goal is to develop knowledge base in the field of natural sciences, especially mathematics, physics and chemistry. Students will participate in 1 year programme of professional training activities, aimed at deepening their knowledge gained in high school to the level necessary for their active involvement in scientific research activities. Subsequently, these students will be directly involved in the work of scientific research teams at universities, in order to capture their interest for further studies, science, and scientific career.
VTP UP is responsible for administrative management of the project and maintanance of the project's website.

Effective transfer of knowledge and results from research and development into practice, and their subsequent utilization (EF TRANS)
The project is aimed to set up and help to implement an effective method of knowledge transfer of R&D results into practice. The project is one of the six individual projects implemented by the Ministry National Education, Youth and Sports.
VTP UP is involved in EF TRANS network and performs a role of regional expert.

Thanks to the project, which was completed 30 June 2008 we have equipped our building with all the necessary stuff, including the possibility of offering favourable (subsidized) rents.

Development of the Science and Technology Park of Palackı University in Olomouc
Through the project we have equipped laboratories of VTP UP with the latest diagnostic, measuring and testing instruments, which has extended the range of our capabilities and allowed us to support the introduction and penetration of new advanced technologies (such as nanotechnology, biotechnology) in production programs not only companies located in the VTP UP.
